value of this rx7?
my dad is in the car business so i am looking around for a first car for myself. He deals with cars in the states from insurance auctions (we are in bc), i found an rx7 but after doing some research it is tuned for racing (engine it has and such), anyways here is some general info:
1993 rx7
has about 90k on it.
blue colour
smoked out lights
in the special notes it says: racing tuned car.
spec list:
93 rx7
99 13b engine (twin-turbo)
blitz dual intake setup
blitz bov
o.r.c. racing clutch
hks downpipe
hks midpipe
hks exhaust
bilstean suspension
it is a race car. but its not stripped. it still has the stock stearing wheel, and some black cloth racing seats. my initial plans are to take the engine swap out of there and sell it then put something reasonable that wont kill my wallet to maintain. its my first car anyways so i dont even need twin-turbo regardless. i love the way the rx7 looks and everything and i would love to own one. the only reason im asking whats its worth is because since its in an auction i can get it way less than whats it worths if sold by a person.

hey,
i wouldnt buy a rx7 for your first car.. its alot of money to upkeep.. not to mention fuel for it.. i fill up with 94 oc.. and it generally lasts me under a week.. and thats when my car was stock.. so say.. 400km at best on a tank.. also.. companys try to say that about sports cars to get more money. from what you say there it is still mostly stock. also.. looking at that setup you would need a standalone computer to properly run the car, or else you risk detonation. i personally love my rx7 but its not my first car.. and if your in bc you generally have to work on your own car becasue there is no rotary garages that are really good, well from what i know anyway.. imo stay away from a fd.. for now.

The car sounds relatively stock. The twins came stock on the car. If you look inside the passenger footwell area. Remove the side panel you probably will find a modified stock ECU or an aftermarket one. I drove mine for 12 years as a daily driver. Was stock though. Got 24 miles per gallon on the highway. These cars are not cheap to repair. Parts are getting expensive. So the cost of the car is not the issue, maintenance is! Goog luck.

word of advice dude, just don't go there. From what it sounds like the car has a retuned ECU, or at the very minimum a boost controller, and it sounds like the drive-line is about as stock as you'll be able to get it without doing a complete restoration of the car which is not at all cheap. I highly doubt it was "tuned for racing" if it has stock twins or even 99-spec twins as that would have been how the car came from the factory, and most people here who race tend to have a fair amount more power under the hood. As a result of that though, you could probably expect to get stock-like mileage, probably in the neighborhood of 20MPG, I'm not sure what that is in metric, but I'm sure you can figure it out. For the rest of your questions just read this:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/
It truly is a great car though, and as long as you aren't an idiot about it (read as 35 year old adult, or at least be that mature) you should be fine. Its a car that will take every mistake you make and multiply the severity by 10X, and give you far less time to react if you do make a mistake, and if your lucky when that does happen you'll only have a dinged fender instead of a broken neck. The threshold for error on these cars is just that low. If you really are interested in rotaries though start with an FC, those are cheaper to buy and much cheaper to maintain, and dont have quite as much of a likelihood to kill you if something goes wrong. Best of luck, and either way you go with it, have some fun.

What theses guys say...My FD is my only car right now, and it's down for the count, parts are expensive, and for me hard to find, bad gas mileage, etc. Hell I'm going to get a ride to check out a blown up honda which is more reliable then the FD at this point.

I think you need to do some more research before you put any money on this car. I get the feeling that it's a rhd jdm.
You need basic knowledge for this car before getting an rx7 or else it will leave you at the side of the road.
