Value of RX7
I currently own a 93 R1, with 101k and 24k on a rebuilt motor, compression test came in at 120-125 on all faces. The interior is in excellent condition, no broken/brittle plastic or fade. The paint looks good from afar unfortunately, the previous owner got a 2nd rate respray done on the car so up close you can see its average at best. I have all service records from 94 onwards.
Asking all this because, I saw a 93 touring with less then 45k on the odo and completely original with no known issues. Would it be worth it to sell my R1 (not sure how much it would sell for) and pick up this touring which is selling for less then 15k? I was thinking it might be better at holding or appreciating in value?
Thanks for any responses

A bad paint job will cost you or the new owner 5k for a decent re paint and original paint is hard to beat so buy the touring.
120 PSI compression is outstanding so you may want to considering pulling out the long block as a spare and selling your car as a roller.
After the 100k mark or right where your car is problems start popping up one after another:
cpu #2
Leaking ABS pump
Leaking slave
clutch fork
diff bearings
driveshaft u joints
front upper and lower arm ball joints
pillow *****
fuel pump
many relays
engine harness
all electrical switches
etc...etc...
Bottomline: at the 100k and up mark you will find yourself replacing a lot of 20 plus year old parts and that can really add up in both headache and $$$ so buy the low mileage car at what would appear to be a great price If you don't buy it please tell us where it is LOL
10k sells your car quick and 13k will take some time but that's likely what it's worth based on your description. If the paint was good I'd say 15k.

Thanks for the responses. Im going to see the car this weekend, I pulled the vehicle history, and the car has NONE since 1999. This is the 2nd owner, and hes only put 10k on it since 1997. Are these red flags? If the car hasnt been driven in over a decade.

Typically you'd have inspection history so if this car has no plates and hasn't been inspected since 1999 or driven on the street, had the coolant flushed been through a tank gas every 6 months etc.... then yes you could have big problems LOL

Havent heard back from the seller after I started asking questions about the car and its non registered status, and to provide additional photos. Looks shady to me..... but will update if I do end up seeing the car.
I have 1 remaining carfax report, if anyone needs, I can run a VIN
