V Mount Intercoolers

Does anyone know of any threads that have shows how to rig up a custom v mount without having to pay $2500 for a kit. I've tried searching but no luck on anything solid.

Pack of zipties and some corrugated home ventilation ducting oughta do it.

Or you could not spend as much money and pick one up from Jason at RX7Store.net. I followed his design pretty closely only changing a few things for my needs. If you do not weld and need to pay someone then it may cost as much/more just to pick one up.

It really is not that difficult, but you need to understand how the radiator/IC combo perform their respective jobs in regards to fluid/air flows. It should be pretty well illustrated in my thread but do put thought into your project or it could go horribly wrong.

Good luck with whatever you do.

Edit** This is how un-observant I am. Just noticed you are in okc. Send me a pm if you decide to take this on yourself.

I agree, I have one from Jason at the RX7 store and I am happy with it overall, I was especially happy with the price. Give him a shout, I belive he has some of his Koyo rads on sale right now which should in turn lower the price of the v-mount setup. My recommendation is though, tell Jason if you have 1 or 2 oil coolers. I have an R1 but my kit was test fitted on a single cooler car so I had to have a custom oil line made up by a local hydraulic shop because one of my oil lines would not clear the rad. Good luck with your search.

just dont be one of those people that just mount a radiator and intercooler in the v mount position, do some ducting, and call it a day. The radiator will have to be modified.

Good advice here. Some setups need less ducting than others but if the air has other options of travel other than through the radiator and ic than you have not achieved the full potential of what you have built (or purchased).
