I dont even think they make new engine anymore. The only NEW parts from what I understand are the housings, rotors, and maybe irons, but Ive not heard of them coming together new.

Why would there not be new engines available? Production on the FD only ended a little over 1 year ago.

You could buy all the parts new and assemble a brand spankin' new engine, but it would cost some serious $$$$. All the remans (including the RX7store.net ones) are a mix of used and new parts... it's a crapshoot.

Siggi,

The RX7Store.net runs this forum. The last I remember reading, "Jason" (the owner of the RX7Store.net and this forum) was going to discontinue overseas transactions. You might send him a PM and ask him though just to make sure.

Even though, did you read this about the RX7Store.net motor:

** There is a $900 core charge added to the price of the motor. The core charge is refunded to you once we get your core back. No core fee if you send us your motor first**

This means you pay an additional $900 USD if you don't ship them your motor. Paying to ship 2 motors may get quite expensive.

You might get in touch with JT-Imports: http://www.jt-imports.com/

The ower is in Japan and also named Jason. Shipping might be a little different from him.

It's not a crapshoot. As long as the reused engine parts are within spec, there is no reason that a used part won't work.

If you are going to have it shipped to Iceland, you are better off buying a rebuilt from Japan.

New engine part # N3A1-02-200 ('94 MT) about $4200 for the short block with a Mazda Employee discount. I don't beleive they sell them completey assembled anymore though.

Ford and Chevy crate motors are very different from rotarys. Theres no such thing as a crate motor rotary, I dont even think it would be worth it, since most of the parts are reusable.

never ever buy a used rotary engine unless you plan to tear it apart. you just can never be sure if the seals are good or bad. a reman is about 2200$, considering labor to pull an engine can run 1000$ its just better to be safe and do it right the first time.
