My A/C relocation

Well, I got done with my AC relocation project...I just have to extend the wires..Here are some pix, tell me what you guys think...I just have a question, I can't seem to put the shifter panel back into place cuz of all the wires...There are so many wires under the shifter panel now that it wouldn't go back in place..Did I do something wrong?

You started another thread on this again? Extend the wiring toward the front of the car. That will move the PCB out of the way. That the only thing I can see working.

The center console is from a 93 rx7, but I had it repainted with texture coating...

Even when I do extend the wiring, the wiring under the fan speed is still too long and it won't fit back into the stock location....Can I please get some more help?

thanks,
thien phan

thanks guys....I can't wait to put it into my car, now I just need a short shifter(probably pettit short shifter kit) and a double din LCD(eclipse AVX, the one that has an internal 20g HD)....

I know that I'll be able to do the wiring, I just got a question which is why doesn't the shifter panel fit back into the original locaiton?

thanks,
thien phan

Very nice, it's quite tight under there even without any extra wires, only thing you could do is probably raise it up onto a platform you could use a wooden frame then texture it to give it the factory look.
Will require a bit of innovation but you've done well thus far.Not sure how it will look but it will solve your problem.

Yeah you're gonna need two A/C panel... There use to be a website that shows how to do the relocation but it is down right now...The website shows you all the details.

The problem is not the wiring, you ****. It the clearance between the console & tranny tunnel.

The further back you locate anything on the console the less clearance you will have.

IM using two fog light switches for the "fan mod" & intercooler fan. They are located in the two blank switch locations on the console (R1, no factory fogs).

I tried to move them to the two side locations that house the warning lights, but the switch with plug is too tall.

To answer your question, put some clay on your tranny tunnel & see where it's making contact. Then either beat the crap out of the sheet metal (to dent it enough to clear) or cut a section out.

Yes, are you right, the tyranny tunnel does get in the way.....Are you sure, it's okay to dent the tyranny tunnel? So, I did make a mistake when I did the relocation cuz, it is way too far back making less clearance..

You don't need two A/C panels, and this is not a hard job at all. Anyone with a Dremel and some plastic filler can pull it off.

The more you move the controls towards the shifter, the more clearance you will have. I still had a little clearance issue, and I have mine really close to the shifter boot opening (pm me if you want for some pics/extra explanation).
