Urethane engine mounts
Just received my urethatne engine mounts and installed them this afternoon. Picked them up from Rotorsportsracing for $140/mount with core. They fit perfectly. The metal part on the left one was a post 93 design ie it was steel not aluminum but it went on with only very minor pushing to line it up. Rotorsportsracing has great customer service and follow through.

I bet those are my cores that got modified to the final products.
I just sent him a set of cores. Mines was black like that.
The ones I got are white alluminum colors...
Have fun with the vibration...your gf may like it...just keep it around 1500rpm, and she will love it...

I got everything back together with the new urethane engine mounts and took it out for a spin today snow and all. There is definitely an increase in the vibration level at idle but mainly when it is settling down to a steady idle after bumping the throttle or when you first start it and it's in a rough idle mode for a few second before it settles down. Driving I felt no additional vibration.
I also put in the ACT strip street clutch, a new 5th gear synchro, shift spindle and the B&M short shifter. I really like the feel of the shifter and no rattles in the shift mechanism. It definitely takes a greater effort to shift, the shorter throw reduces the leverage but it feels really solid.

Jim,
Did you remove the motor to do all this, or just the transmission. ???? I'm curious to know if the motor mounts can be changed without removing the motor. Thanks, Jack

Removed the transmission and lifted the engine about 4" because I also resealed my oil pan but did not take the engine out. Just undo the intercooler piping so nothing breaks when you lift the engine up.

Wow, that's a great price, mazda just increased their prices on the stockers again and now sit about 195 bucks for stock engine mounts. Hell, even those of us that get shop cost can still only get the mounts for 180 bucks or so.

How's the shiftin, particularly downshifting?
I bought new stock motor mounts, and plan to get an engine torque brace (from Rx7 Store), because I didn't want the increase in NVB (noise vibration harshness) by going with hard engine mounts?
