Upper Intake Manifold Questions

Picked up a spare UIM as a project. Plan is to have it polished to dress up my engine bay. When reinstalling, I know there's a gasket between the UIM and LIM, but is there a gasket between the UIM and throttle body?

Also, while it's off, anything there to check/inspect/replace?

I cant remember if its plastic or metal but there is a gasket between the UIM and TB. I would recommend going through vacuum lines and your fuel system depending on how long it's been. Also check coolant hose conditions if applicable.

Thanks guys, and THANK YOU cr-rex for the part numbers!

Was looking for these on Mazdatrix yesterday and wasn't sure what to get but I'll put in an order with Atkins for these tomorrow!

No problem. I advise going with mazdapartsunlimited.com. Atkins has has a pretty steep mark up on a lot of things. Their site is just easier to navigate for me.

While the UIM is off, I'd take off the injectors and send them off for testing/cleaning. Very important to have clean injectors and peace of mind.

Yes but pulling injectors, especially with the sequential system, is going in a lot farther than just R & R'ing the UIM.
