Update-flooded, no spark

Hey, I had a topic about my car flooding then having no spark. Still didnt get it started but have a few questions.

Well I FINALLY had some time to do abit of testing. I went on all data in class and checked the ignitor pinouts.

I pulled the connector on the ignitor and got my DVOM out. I found that pin 2 (-coil leading), pin 5 (ign+), pin 7(coil- Trailing front) are all getting battery voltage. But Pin 3, 6 and 8 dont have squat. Those pins are the igniter signals leading and trailing, from PCM to ICM. Now I wonder if my PFC is F-ed. I sure hope it isnt!
I also noticed that with KOEO my tac reads like 3.5k. I dont think thats normal.

I didnt pull the specs off all data, but is the signal from PCM to ICM supposed to read low? I also checked it while cranking with no luck. Reading was less then a volt.

Might be PFC? Still need to get a commander. =[
Any ideas, Thanks

No one nearby to swap ignitors and/or Power FCs with? You're using the factory service manual too correct?

Nope noone nearby, that I know of. I mostly use the stuff off of Iluvmyrx7. But all data has some other things on it to.

Im not sure if the powerfc is like a normal factory ECU, but I pulled the EGI fuse, and it set off the exhaust light and beeped, so im thinking its still operational.
But now im not getting any tac signal though. Soooo, just more work for me.

I was sitting in the car yesterday, and I figured I would put the radio on, But only the center speaker was working. I thought that was pretty weird. It worked fine prior to the flooding. The the speaker is getting MASSIVE induction from something else too. Also the alarm wont set.

I thought alarm in the first place, but didnt think the factory had igntion cut. Looked for a kill switch too. Very very annoying.

The harness to the coils could be bad - it's a common problem. There's a short harness that connects to the coils and connects to the front harness. The original harnesses are pulled too tight so the wires wear down and break, the new harness is redesigned so it's run better.

I say focus towards this direction but it's really hard to say for sure. The tach gets its signal from the leading coil I believe so there may be an issue there. Test both the coils if you haven’t already, it's real easy. Might want to check the crank angle sensor. Also maybe make sure the trigger wheel is functioning properly. If I remember correctly there is a wire that runs from the trigger sensor to the Power FC which quite often goes bad due to the same situation mentioned by Dale.

I figured I would reply instead of making a new topic.

I checked both Crank Angle Sensors with a vantage. It shows you what the waveform should look like during cranking.

The G sensor, the one higher I believe has a perfect signal. But the NE sensor is not right. It should have high peak one after another, but it seems to be all over the place. Like its missing some signals on the trigger wheel. The voltage seems right but the frequency is wack.

I did swap the G with the NE sensor and I get the same thing. Not a steady signal. I shimmed the sensor a hair, and all that did was make the peak voltage go up. Didnt change the freq of the signal. I dont want to fork over 100 bucks for the new sensor untill im 95% sure its the problem.

Its the only real thing left. I just think its odd, that when switching the sensor, the NE works in the G spot but the G doesnt work in the NE spot. I thought maybe both are weak and cant pick the signal up, but im just pissing in the wind with that one. I did clean the trigger wheel and checked to see if it was warped. But to no avail.

Anyone have a waveform from a working, sparking rx7 for the NE sensor. Because the vantage might be wrong.

Any ideas? Thanks!
