Underside of mirrors...
Does anybody else's undersides of their mirrors feel textured instead of smooth? Also, does the area around your tail lights (on a black car) appear to be faded in contrast to the rest of the car?

The underside of my mirrors, and about a 3" strip on the bottom of the car are all textured. I think it's some kind of corrosion resistance thing.

Ex fd *****
Its is a Polyurethane "Stone Guard" coating (they came from the factory w/ it) that is applied to protect the paint from road debris and prevent the paint chipping. My FD has it on the rocker panels only though not on my mirrors.

This is actually in the inner bend of the "stalk". You can see it when you look at the mirrors from the driver's seat. Also, can the door handles and rear tail light section be painted? The key hole is chipped up from the previous owner and the tail light section doesn't match the new black paint... My bodyshop guy is saying neither of these can be painted (they will peel).

I was actually looking for confirmation that this is the case... If it can be done, and was supposed to be done, then when they correct the other issues I have with their work, I want this to be included.
