Unbolted the turbos, now what?
Ive been trying to change out my exhaust housing with a newer one, and Ive unbolted everything from the secondary turbo. Its free and clear from the other. Now Im having difficulty pulling it apart. How can I seperate the housings and what should I be careful with? Thanks

If it's really stuck on, hit it a few times with a hammer to try to loosen before attempting to pry.
Also, spray some liquid wrench, or wd-40 on there to try to loosen it up a bit.

Soak it with lubricant, and hit it with a hammer. That easy. Be sure to make index marks on the turbo cartridge before you pull it appart.
I have taken three turbos apart and they were all different in their degree of dificulty removing the turbo from the manifold, but generally a tap with a hammer is the easiest method.

You're having trouble removing the cartridge from the exhaust housing, right? One of mine took a little persuasion to get it off of the housing. Use a soft face mallet (rubber or a "dead blow"(?))
Position the exhaust housing in a vise so that it will be held firmly with out screwing anything up, and then just carefully work your way around the compressor housing with the mallet.

If you still have the pre-cat, place it back on with at least 3 studs(tight) and use the pre cat for leverage by pulling/wiggling on it from the bottom. They might come of then?. Just be carefull NOT to break the studs!! Good Luck.
