UIM stud removal/install ???
#4
Put two nuts on the stud (tighten one on top of each other) and use a wrench on the bottom one to work it out. The top nut will stop the bottom one from loosening off. No need for vice grips.

if you're using the locknut technique, I'd suggest using different size nuts. If the bottom nut is bigger, it will make it possible to use a socket wrench to torque on the bottom nut. Othewise, just use a combination wrench.
