Well after snapping two studs off during my engine replacement, I took the exhaust manifold to a local shop and they were able to turn out one of the studs but the other one broke further down on them... What are my options? I have a third hole that needs drilled and tapped, then this one that is broken off deep in the hole

 

are the studs to the engine or turbos? if turbos just chunk the manifold and purchase a set of used turbos with a new one. i got three laying around.

 

yeah seeing i have money to waste... they are in the Exhaust manifold... not the turbo manifold

 

Hey some times you get luck and you can jsut put a new nut ont eh end of the broken stud! i have done this many of times! All you need i just one thread showing through and you go it! Lay off the roids E.

 

take it to a machine shop they might be able to take the stud out of the exhaust manifold. they will drill into the stud and then use a chisel to collapse it onto itself. the stud is probably seized with the exhaust manifold and you might lose a few small pieces of the thread with it.

 

I have one at the shop you can have for free. Good condition.
