twins body swap???

This might be a stupid question but I am going to ask anyway since it doesn’t seem impossible.

I would like to know if anyone has ever attempted to swap the primary turbo body and replaced it for a secondary turbo body.

I have 2 sets of twins that the primary turbos are leaking, so I wanted to see if its possible to make one good turbo out of 2. this is just a question so all you smart asses out there give me a brake

I cant see why that is a problem the turbos are the same they are both hitachi ht12's , i beleive the compressors and housing ect ect are exactly the same. Some one chime in and tell me im not wrong?

i did this and i know of at least a few others who have as well.

try searching first next time, there was a thread about this just last week.

^^^ They are THE SAME

Understand the orientation of them before you unbolt them where the CHRA meets the turbine housing - and install them back the same way or you might run into problems installing the Y pipe. The Y pipe rotates a little bit to give you some degree of adjustment but look at them carefully before you remove them.

Also, you have gone this far - port the wastegate.

#1 thing to remember is to make sure you properly align everything, otherwise the oil & water lines might not line up.

what would be the benefit of this? all that work done to pull the twins and get negligible gains..... not for me

well you know if this works i will be $2500 dollars richer..

Yesterday I drove my FD and it was smoking so bad I could barely see the car behind me. Also the engine bay was filled with smoke from the oil leaking down the turbo manifold I am so hopeing I can fix this ****. summer is here and I dont need this happening now
