turbo timer

can someone help guide me in installing a blitz turbo timer on a 94 rx-7 please....

i think i have everything down except for the vaccum tube...where am i suppose to connect the vaccum tube?? it says a source behind the throttle body...would anyone be kind enough to explain....thanks in advance!!!

i would then assume this is a blitz datt, the one that measures boost, correct? The vacuum tube goes into the engine compartment and attaches to the "extra" nipple on the left side of your UIM. Its the same as hooking up a boost gauge, you could try a search for pictures.

UIM=Upper intake manifold...the big thing with 4 pipe looking things...heres a pic...the two nipples in the middle of the manifold...you'll need to scroll to the right are the ones you wanna look at...one will have a hose going into it, the other will have a black cover on it and you will need to remove it and attach the hose u attach to your boost gauge or turbo timer to it..........now getting the hose into the engine bay is a whole other story....search for that because i don't feel like writing how to do it....

Androidmj thanks so much...the diagram really helped...i think i can take it from here i'm sure i'll find a way out to the engine bay.....

Make sure you zip tie the hose onto the nipple and maybe a dab of crazy glue so it does not come off. Also the is alot of room on the firewall by the pedals to make a hole if need be.

tobecontinued: thanks alot...i got the tubro timer working....but did you have a problem with the tube that they supplied? the diamater is small and does not fit on the nipple....

the line they supplied to you with will probably be a small diameter plastic or something like that vacuum tube...this is ideal when bringing a hose into the engine bay...your gonna have to buy some 3.5mm silicon or rubber vacuum hose (at an auto shop most likely) and then buy some connectors at any hardware store and connect the smaller hose to the larger rubber/silicon hose, i can't remember the names of the ones that are used for the smaller diameter hose, but you probably used something like it when you hooked it up to your timer...if not though its not tough to find these things and they are cheap.

cant help with that, i have a autometer boost gauge but i have the blitz fatt and was having trouble deciding between the two so i knew alittle about it.

you can either pull the hose to the engine bay through the steering column rubber or just drill another hole through the firewall. dont make it too big though, if you do, you will understand why

i installed and got my turbo timer working today....i'll just hold off on the boot vaccum until i find the right hoses....

thanks again for all the pointers....it was really helpful!!!
