To tune... or not to tune...

Iam about to upgrade to 850cc primaries (Iam on stock injectors now) and a upgraded SMIC. Iam currently tuned for 12psi on my setup which is basically everything but a intercooler. Now what iam wondering is if I install the 850's and the intercooler will I still be able to get away with running 12psi. I plan to eventually get tuned for 15psi on the setup but for now I just want to keep running the 12psi. should I be ok???

You'll have to play with the PFC to get the injectors to work properly. Search in the PFC forum, as Chuck (cewrx7r1) and others have thoroughly gone through that.

Your map should be fine with adding the IC.

You need some adjustment or you car is going to run like crap. You are tuned for stock primaries. Adding enlarged injectors will be dumping more fuel in so you need to adjust for that.

Will you need a professional re-tune verses just a little self adjustments? I think the PFC guys could help you adjust for the 850's until you get your next professional tune.

I know I have to change the actuall injector size setting from 550 to 850, set them to 64%, and adjust the lag time to 0.04. Do you think there is anything else iam going to have to do besides that.

why exactly do you think you need to 'upgrade' to 850cc primaries?

because stock fuel injectors cannot support 15psi of boost let alone the 12psi iam running now (I hit up to %96 duty cycle when its cold)
