TS-Style seibon hood or GRA motoring AD9 hood

I'm posting this thread because I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves the look of the AD9 Re-Amemiya hood and wants it for their car, sadly as of posting this they are not producing it. So that being said I am reaching out to see who has dealt with either of the 2 listed in the title, and to get your opinions on what you liked/disliked about either product,if you post thanks for the help,it might help not just me decide on a purchase but someone else later on!

Most aftermarket hoods will fit "OK" and not great, especially copies made from original products. Group A & Shine Auto have decent reputations, and each have their own share of poor customer experiences. Seibon is more of a global manufacturer that creates copies of discontinued products and fit varies.

A couple examples on my car:

No name good, clearly a rep:

Seibon DS Hood (Currently for sale):

Stock, which I went back to for paint because it fit the best and leaves the pronounced wheel arches:

Thanks for the info, its helpful! Sometimes it's hard to discern who actually makes a decent product and who doesn't,I haven't heard that much about group a but I have heard alot of good things about shine. Appreciate the info on seibon!

The gra ad9 hood in carbon is excellent. Fitment with the one we had tried on 2 different cars was spot on. First car was stock fenders and 99 bumper and the second car was stock fenders and shine auto mazdaspeed bumper and it fit both excellent. The overall quality of the hood is incredible as well. Its well worth the buy and the wait

Thank you for the info,I heard that their lead times were about long but I have little issue waiting a bit for a solid product.

Yes they are. I've been waiting for mine since May 2021.

Did you ever get your hood? If so how did it fit? I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews on GRA, so hesitant on ordering from them.

I just ordered the Seibon ST carbon fiber hood so I will let you know how it fits hopefully in a week. I ordered from another member of the RX7 FB group.

I have still not received my hood. All recent correspondences have been ignored. They have been super active on social media lately and acting like the supply and shipping issues have mostly been resolved. So idk what the problem is. Maybe my social media following is not big enough for them to care?

Wow, what a bummer to hear. I was recently recommended that shop for a project and I heard out about potential quality issues; not to mention the stealing others' intellectual property ethical concerns. I hope this problem gets resolved quickly. The community needs to take a stand against shops like this and permanently boycott them imo.
