True Competition Yellow Mica Registry
Have often thought of how many out of the 350 remains....
If you would..provide the following info...
Name
Location
Vehicle Identification Number
Mileage
Modifications
Status
I assume this would provide for great use to those who
have and are seeking a CYM. A website to follow.
Proof required.
You can provide proof of its authenticity by supplying a pic
of the door jamb sticker containing the color code and Vin..
with firewall stamp.. and or
Vin plate located in the corner of the driver side windshield ..
Please forward to other forums...and the chance of sticky
status ? Thanks ahead.

You could always edit out the last 6 digits of the VIN. Or, an even simpler way of doing it, cover them up with masking tape before you snap the pic

it doesnt provide for a repainted selection...
its easy enough to make claims that you have a true CYM with a complete paint job...
the site makes no provisions to substantiate your claim...
only way to do that is through vin and paint code...

no hate...no exclusion...no bias...no elitism
as in any other items of rarity..it needs to be authenticated...
just figured that with the limited production of the CYM that it would be beneficial that they are authenticated and documented...
you bring up a good point on the keys...
although i always assumed for that to be effective...you require proof that you own the car prior to ..
as ive stated earlier..it will not be published without the consent of the owner....
thought it would be neat as well to have a CYM gathering in the near future...

additional oil cooler..spoilers...strut bar and suade seats..
only bolt ons to complete
just to prove a point...a registry authenticating would benefit.
in the SSMs case...unless you have the original dealer stickers it would be difficult to substantiate your claim

Or people could have used the registry site that Railgun69 and I made months ago. You can leave off the check digit on the VIN and it makes them borderline impossible to guess. I think my site had the same issue with people not wanting to give up VIN's but such is the life of the paranoid I guess.

Personally, I think the only thing needed is a pic of the color code in the door jam and the first few letters of the VIN. These first letters designate whether or not the car was a US or Canadian model. Other than that, there's no way for a complete VIN to verify if it's an R1 or not.
Basically, if it's a U.S. spec CYM (J9) color code hardtop, it's one of the 350.
It's not like we've got a vast underground of people out there trying to create CYM clones
