You should be checking the plug with the square protrusion, not the plug with the star intrusion.

Hey dale, what bolt do you use to drain the tranmission? or is it just pumped out like it's pumped in? I'm about to perform this task and want to make sure. Also I think the tranny only uses 2 1/2 quarts of fluid. Could be wrong.

There are two plugs with sqaure protrusions. First take out the top plug. Then take out the bottom plug. Once it has drained from the bottom plug, there is a 24mm(I think) plug on the very bottom of the tranny. Take that out to finish draining it.

Are the two square protrusions located in the front or the back of the transmission? How do you know if the tranny is full of fluid after filling it up? Or should I just put 2 1/2 quarts of the MLT fluid? Thanks

The plugs are on the driver's side of the tranny. They are easy to see looking up at it. You will know that it's full when oil starts coming out of the fill hole.

I already took photos of this so that it would clear it up a bit, check this link out https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ghlight=tranny

I hope it helps

Good luck.

P.S. It should be all the way full since the capacity is about 2 1/2 only, we are talking about a manual tranny right?
