Oil = 5.7 quarts for R1/R2 w/dual coolers. Not sure what it would be with your Mocals but that should put you in the neigborhood. And that's what the dipstick is for.
Transmission is about 2.5 quarts. You fill until runs out.

With the vehicle level, fill to the bottom edge of the fill plug.

Too much or too little gear oil is bad news.

All factory service manuals are available for download so that you don't have to rely on us to recite it for you. There is a link in the stickied threads that keep at the top of this forum.

Make sure the car is nice and leveled and just fill both the tranny and rear diff until oil tops off the bottom of the fill hole, wipe off any excess, plug her back up and go out for a nice drive.

Tranny should be about 2.5 quarts. Make sure you fill it through the correct plug. Note: a gallon is perfect for tranny and rear end!

Yup, its a great time to change both, and it doesn't take much time at all. Just make sure not to overfill the transmission as previously stated.

I have a touring that I upgraded to dual R1/R2 oil-coolers, and the most motor oil I can get in is 4-quarts (1-gallon).

Perhaps the oil trapped in two oil-coolers accounts for the missing 1.7-quarts ?

I don't disconnect the oil-coolers when changing the oil, since I do it so frequently (every 3K miles) and after every weekend driving event.

It hides out somewhere other than the oil coolers. (I once disconnected them to see if the oil was in there - it was not)

Probably inside the rotors too. I'll let it drain for a long time, but yes 4 quarts is about right. I should have made that more clear in the post. Thanks.
