Check the power plant frame (PPF) for cracks in the welds.

As for the hi-flo cat, you should be fine but make sure you have a boost gauge installed so you can monitor your boost levels.

Any play in the suspension and/or engine mounts will allow the shifter to bounce up and down.

Not all bouncing of the shifter is bad - it's relatively normal. But if it's going crazy, I'd examine the rear pillow *****, the differential mounts, and the engine mounts.

if it bounces up and down, its most likely you have a crack in the ppf.

The tranny connects to the bell housing of the engine and then is supported by the PPF (Power Plant Frame).

The main two options for excess tranny play are

1. engine mounts
2. cracked PPF

Those are typically the problem areas....
