Top Speed and 13s?

Hey everyone,

Two questions everyone: 1)What is top speed on this generation of RX7s 5speed no rear end change? 2)Anyone have a link to a site that offers an upgrade package that will put this generation RX7 into the high 12s or low 13s 1/4 mile?

Thanks

top speed of a slightly modded rx-7 is around 165 or more.

that staged upgrade will get you into the low 13s at stock boost levels (10 psi) and with 2 psi more and a good launch will set you in the mid 12s.

In stock trim you should be capable of low 13's @ 109 MPH at approximately 500 MSL (Mean Sea Level) altitude with decent ZR rated tires launching @ 4000RPM. Try it and see what happens. Most common driver error though is missing 3rd gear.... suggest you do a few "base" runs at a local drag strip to establish a base line. Then, when you do start mod-ing the car you'll be able to identify what improvements worked
If you're looking for another good source of "go fast" after market parts try link too.... http://www.gothamracing.com/catalog/

The Fd does the 1/4 mile on 13.7 sec.

Does a exhaust, downpipe, intake and pulleys do so much?

That list also included a powerfc and I assumed that it was tuned for your mods not the pretuned basemap.

Yeah with those mods and a 2.0 60 foot time you will get yourself very low 13s with stock boost.

Those mods take off about half a second in the 1/4.

Then you add a midpipe and a fuel pump and move the boost to 12 psi and you will be in the 12s with the same 60 foot time.

I ran a 13.1 with the mods listed in my signature. That was at 10 psi on stock turbos so I know that 12's is very attainable if I just up the boost.

You're probably very right about that but you also have a street port and that must make much difference.

Im putting on: DP, highflowcat, exhaust, coned air filters and an AEM ECU.

If i get in to a high twelve i would be thrilled over my ears.

Thats w/out having to fight the wind which makes a huge difference.

On a dyno any car should be able to go about 20-30 mph faster top speed.

I too cant wait to break into the 12s which shouldnt be too long for me I hope. Getting an engine rebuild and while that is being done I am also getting a street port done with the 3 mm seals and a fluidyne radiator. Got to sell my mx6 to afford the power fc with commander, jic titanium exhaust, and apexi intake which will put me in 12s woohoo.

Cool

-11.8 @ 115.7mph on M/T slicks or full slicks @ 15lbs of boost
-12.1 @ 112mph on Drag Radials @ 13lbs of boost
-12.7 @ 110mph on Street Tires @ 13lbs of boost

w/ pfc & commander, dp, mp, apex intake, apex dual n1, cosmo fuel pump, apex fmic... everything else stock.

-13.3 @ 108mph on street tires w/ just a dp, everything else stock.

all this on pump gas... all I need now are a pair of 1300cc for the secondaries and rrfr (rising rate fuel regulator) or boost dependant fuel regulator and I'm done with the motor part... this year will be all suspension.

Cool

now remember, 'you can't just slap on all these things and expect your 7 to fly'... it's all in the tuning... and PFC has made a big difference in the way the car responds... put your money on the tuning after you get everything on...
