Too much boost.
Ok ppl i know that boost spikes and boost creep has been discussed many times before and i know all about them. My problem is not like this.
I've got a 2000 Type R and i know that i should work slightly higher boost than the 93 FD's but constant 15-16psi???
Only mods i've done are intakes+cat back and as soon as i step on the gas it goes immediately not like creeping at 16psi and stays there until transition then it drops to 14psi and when secondary hits in again 16psi without creeping. It's just like i've set the boost at 16psi. Why the hell do i have a pattern 16-14-16?

I know it sounds weird but this is going on for 6-7 months now without any prob, and the car has 14K miles stock engine. I know it's too much but dunno why. The turbos are almost brand new so i don't beleive that it's the wastegate although i'll have it checked.

Call your local dealer and ask what the stock boost patern is for your specific model year car. Its different from ours.
If what you are getting is too much this problem may be as simply solved as installing a boost controller to keep boost at stock levels.

Actually before i installed the intakes and after the boost gauge although the stock boost gauge before the intakes showed 10*100KPa whatever that is. It used to go all the way up.
As for the Mazda dealer i tried but they have no idea since this car never being imported by the Mazda dealer in Cyprus
so they don't know.
The stock boost gauge at idle is at the bottom line -4*100KPa if i am not mistaken.
So anyone knows what's the pattern for a 99spec?

when you put your intake on you might have messed up a vaccum hose somewhere around the turbos. i used to have a problem just like yours where it would spike as soon as i would step on the gas, like right to 12-15psi... i took off my intake and i could see that the vaccum hose connected to the PreControl Actuator right under the front turbo had popped off. I would suggest looking at that vaccum hose first. and if not, then look at all the vaccum hoses connected to the turbos and actuators around there. something could have popped off...

you said before you had your stock boost gauge showing 10000 Kpa right?
10000 Kpa =1 Mpa=1bar=more or less 15psi
if you read 16 or so i don't think is much different

i don't think you have a problem at all. the jspec turbos flow 20% more than 93-95 fds. the fuel pump and pcm are adj accordingly i'm sure. i just installed a brand new jspec turbo assembly on a 95 fd. along with a med stock mount ic, high flow fuel pump pcm reprog. and i set it up at 11psi and 15 on the high boost. runs great.
