168 for both and it is stainless, good god. Makes ya wonder how much Bonez is making from the parts I've bought from them.

Sounds great to me. I only wish I didn't have so many other problems to throw my money at.

if you look at the part number "MR-SSDP-MRX9395 "

i think you'll just get a SSDP in the long run, might be an advertising error

I've seen the combo (yes, for both) on eBay for $99 before. Thought about ordering one just to see how big a POS it was..

There's a distribution company in NY called RVM that makes those, and many copies of popular hi performance accessories and products out there, they basically take products and copy them, get them made out of the USA because it's WAY cheaper to manufacture that way, and then sell them at cheap prices. If someone here has used them in the past, please chime in. This goes to show you how really cheap products can be made, and actually how much companies make off of products, those pipes cost around $40 to manufacture in bulk out of the country. This to me is a reasonable price for what a DP and MP SHOULD cost. The manufacturer, or company getting them made is STILL making a huge profit.

There not that bad, infact I would say they are better than some of the big name companys I have seen selling them!!

Fitment was good (the only thing that really should matter) and quality looks good, fully mandrel bent and good thick SS flanges.

Look at it this way, they are so cheap that how can you go wrong, they fit and if you are purchasing smartly a DP and MP are simply tubing nothing more! They need only connect your “quality”(don’t skimp in this area) catback without leaking or causing problems with its fitment.

Looks like the real deal to me. And I agree on the pricing structure, but you can't fault the companies like Bonez and Pettit and HKS....they are simply selling at what the market will bear. You and I would do the same thing if we owned these companies.

Being in manufacturing myself, I know the profit margins available, and well understand the low labor costs available in Third World countries. Some poor **** probably got about 25 cents to fabricate those pipes.....

Looks like a damn good deal. Just heat up the DP if it doesn't fit right.

Hi guys,

My name is Mike. I am the owner of OptionImports.com.

The advertised price is true and that's for DOWNPIPE + MIDPIPE. They are simply metal pipes why should they cost $300+ ?

Too good to be true? because most of you RX-7 guys are used to those name brands high price tag. We just price them at a resonable price that makes us enough profit.

Honda guys get their Headers for $150-200 why a downpipe+midpipe should cost more? isn't header harder to manufacture?

These downpipes are made in Taiwan, not in the USA. The production cost is significanly cheaper that's why we can sell them at such low price.

There's nothing wrong with them. The manufacture is ISO9001 certified and they are all robotic TIG welded and machine mandrel bent pipings in 80mm.

We put these downpipes on our own cars without any problem. We test fit all our products before we start selling them.

There's a few of the forum members here bought these downpipe set from us, hopefully they will post here when they get a chance to put them on.

thanks

I just want to say thanks for clearing that up and welcome to the forum mike. As you can see, we are used to very pricey items, but your point makes great sense. When I first found yourn site and posted, most of the forum members (including myself) were in doubt of any scam or cheap product, we really thought it would be "too good to be true" but its god to hear fro the owner. You will be getting my in the not so distant future. Thanks

Mike, I've got two questions for you:

1.) Are these available for local pickup? Do you have a store or warehouse for will-call orders?

2.) Can I buy the downpipe separate? I don't need a midpipe at this time.

Thanks,
-scott-

I have a mid pipe that looks exactly like the one on Option Imports. But i got mine off E Bay. But it looks identical. Probably made by the same company. The mid pipe fit really well. But it didn’t have threads in the mid-pipe flange. Cuz on stock FD's the cat's flange holds the threads. The bolts go thru the down pipe flange (no threads) and threads into the stock cat (mid-pipe) flange. Same deal with the rear flange too. So I just went to the local hardware store and got 4 1/2inch stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers. I don’t have the down pipe cuz I plan on getting a turbo kit later that comes with one, so why buy one just to sell it later. The guy I bought it from has like an E Bay business set up and he post mid pipes all the time for $80. He also post down pipes for like $100 (don’t quote me) every once and a wail. He has a down pipe for sale right now. Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2456928390 This is the one I got. It looks exactly the same as the one from Option Imports. He doesn’t have a down pipe for sail right now thou. But if you really want just the down pipe he told me earlier that you can contact him and he will sell you one.

yes you can come pick it up, but we can not sell the downpipe and midpipe seperately at this time. They all come in as one package from the manufacture.

SpoolinRX, your midpipe probably didn't come with any hardware that's why you had problems. The factory main cat has studs welded on or somehow that can't be taken off. so you will need new bolts/nuts.

Our downpipe/midpipe set comes with the extra bolts/nuts so they will bolt up correctly.

we have no idea if the ebay guys downpipe/midpipe is the same as ours, but could be from the same manufacture. but our stuff comes with warranty and customer service.
