Tired of breaking diff's and transmission.... please help

hey guys, as many of you know i have been through a few trannys and now my 4th differantial went bad...

So my question is what are my freaking options! i dont want to turn it into a drag setup but i also dont want to break stuff anymore!

im sick and tired of EVERY TIME i go out for a night and i end up towing it home.

I also dont have a fortune to spend on the car eaither, and for all of you who are going to say t56, its too much for me to spend right now....

is there ANYthing i can do to the internals of my trans to make it any better?

Im just going out on my last limb here, If i cant do anything im to the point were im just over this car and its time to move on... idk what to do anymore...

thanks for the future input guys!

What parts are breaking inside the transmission and diffs? You can get higher quality internals and if you are are on a budget you could just have the troubling stuff replaced with higher quality parts.

When were your diff mounts and engine mounts last replaced?

Do you have a diff support installed?

What breaks each time?

Call IRP I talked with them about a week ago about a better diff replacement. They have good options and didn't try and push me in any direction. They helped me find the option that best fits my set up and goals.

where can i get a pinion snubber?

and also yes all mounts and bushings are upgraded and poly urethane.

Also ppf is new and not cracked.

looks like my pinion gear broke.
also had the notorious 3rd gear fail.

who sells new and upgraded internals?

Basically any aftermarket transmission option starts at the cost of 8x used stock gearbox. The better thing to do is determine how to minimize damage to your drivetrain. Driving style can have much to do with it.

What are you doing when you are breaking drivetrain parts? Are you launching the car? Are you experiencing a lot of wheel hop? How much power is the car making?

I am asking because my 20B car is making well over 600 rwhp on the stock trans without any failures. However all the other parts have been upgraded. Twin disk clutch, driveshaft, LED, axels, bushings, braces, etc..

If you are beating the hell out of stock diffs they will continue to break. Even upgrading to the S4 TII LSD will extend your diff life, these can be sourced used pretty cheap, then rebuilt. We have customers that drag race with these LSD units that have held up well. If you have a high budget (which you say you don't) you can look at other units like the Kaaz , Cusco, etc.

An aluminum driveshaft will reduce the amount of shock to both the trans and diff at launch and during hard shifts. A steel shaft can torsionally twist 5-7 degrees, where an aluminum shaft can twist as much as 15-20 degrees.

Clutch choice can also play a role in transmission breakage. This can start to get expensive, when selecting the clutch kits like the Exedy twin disc, that support the desired power without the excessive clamping force required from the single disc pressure plates.

You might want to consider installing our Diff Brace and Trans Crossmember to stop the drivetrain from bouncing around. This will reduce miss-shifts and and wheel hop, both of which break drivetrain parts regularly even on lower powered cars.
