A Tip on 99 spec. Tail light conversion

Here is a tip for those of people who are planning to do 99 spec. tail light conversion.

When I was reading the "how to" on the forum, I realized that he had spray painted the out side of the plate. Painting out side of the plate may cause the air bubbles, uneven finishes for those who have never used the spray can.

Just for additional info., spray the inner part of the plate and not the out side. By spraying outer side of the plate, you will get clean finish with out any uneven finish.

I just finished my 2nd set in half of the time because it was much easier to handle when the paint is not on the outside, worrying about how you might touch it and mess everything up!

uhhhhhh... you mean the inside of the lense??? i want to see pic's because the lense is either red or yellow and if you spray the inside, youdont get rid of the color... it will turn tan or brown when you press the brakes!

please post pic's!

you should be spraying the inside of the outer housing, the clear part. Atleast that is what the how-to shows.

No, that's not correct. You paint the red and orange lenses.

you paint the red one and the orange one from inner side instead of the outter side of the housing.

ok i just ran out and checked the tail lights with "break" on, it looked sharp! not "tan color" like someone said.
Anyways, just for all of your information, spray painting the inner side makes your tail light looks much better....

you are saying to paint the inner side of the colored (red and orange) lenses instead of the outer clear housing?
