Time for a rebuild 8(

I've had the my baby for 10 years and just got off the phone with the shop I take the FD too. Had a compression test done before I had a bunch of work done. Well compression is at 90psi in the rear rotor and 75psi in the front. She was still running so no idea on how the apex seals are or anything else.

I had just bought a good set of '99 spec turbos, Adaptroic ECU, new hoses for all the vac lines and a bunch other goodies.

The shop I use works with adkins rotary. So they will do the rebuild. Since this is my first rebuild What should I look at before going forward. Is there a better type of apex seal I should think about or anything else?

thanks for any info and insight!
Carl

How many miles a year do you put on the car? Future power plans?

less than 10k a year. With the 99 turbos i was hoping at maybe 300-350hp somewhere in that area. I was thinking for now get the 850 bored out too 1300 from RX-7store and next year get a new fuel system. I already have a better fuel pump and quite a few other things.

It was running pretty rough at idle but while on the highway she seems to have run pretty good. I made a run to Portland OR to pick up the 99 turbos and i was getting 21mpg sitting around 70-80mph 3 weeks ago. AFR was sitting at 14.7 on my guage. The turbos are still the org with 172k miles on em so it was deff time to replace em.

Looking from a price point of view catalog_category there is one 13b with the trans going for 2k? Good idea or no? I'm also thinking because my trans has 172k miles on it.

Thoughts?

Have you tried to do a steam clean on it to see if you pick up any compression?

sorry to hijack your thread But , I'm looking for VERY similar results . BUT I do drive my FD quite a bit . During the week not as much but I do take long roadtrips . I got about 7k miles last year. But I'd like to estimate an average of 10k .

and My power goals are between 330- 375 depending on which turbos I go with .

car will be street ported .

if anyone could give some suggestions on which apex seals to go with it would be great!
