Throwout bearing not locking

I just installed the monoloc on my own pressure plate and the problem I am having is the bearing doesn't want to lock in place. Has anyone used the monoloc and if so did you install it with the wave springs?

Are u using the old spring ring? Sometimes these become bent and the TOB will not lock in even in a normal set up. There is an install video on here that shows this.

No I am using the ACT monoloc wedge collar. I Know what you are saying but that's not the case, it's just not going into the collar at all. I bent my pry bar in the process.

Had one sitting on the shelf for a few months, I've just popped it in using the two wave washers, takes a lot of effort to go in I must say! Worse, I'd expect you'd need to unbolt the pressure plate to disengage the bearing, good luck using screwdrivers through the inspection window to do the job now.

Not the mitsubishi one either?

Not sure what you mean by Mitsubishi one. It's ridiculous the amout of force that I'm using and still no success. I'm thinking I may have to take it apart which I really don't want to. If there are any tricks please let me know.

Blurb that came with it, did mention an Evo fitment, which was another part number.

Assume the gearbox is bolted in place on yours? Does seem to be a hell of a lot of force required to install it, I can imagine it's going to be a bitch in-situ! Maybe remove slave, pull back on the clutch fork, with another pair of hands down below?

Put the two washers in place.

It's more trying than the original, but lots more reliable than that rubbish. Good old fashioned long screwdrivers on the fork should get it to seat - if I'm remembering last gearbox change.

Is the collar in place on the pressure plate? I tried to get my throwout to lock in for about 10 minutes until I realized the collar was laying on the ground next to me. I had bumped it off with the input shaft during install.

Make sure you didn't damage the Monoloc when installing the trans. ITs pretty easy to hit and bend it with the input shaft.

^^Amazing, must have pulled and installed gearboxes multiple times since that initial date, but it always seems like I need to rediscover how I did it previously!
