Throttle Getting Stuck? why

So i took a ride today and everything was fine driving , on the drive home, (i didnt really get on it till i was close to being home) so i figured id do 1 pull.. get on it in third, shift to fourth, got to about 7k and was letting off the throttle and putting the car in neutral when all of a sudden i hear/feel/see the rpms just stay up and start bouncing off the limited for about 3-4 seconds, luckily i kinda always knew what i would do in a situation like this, and grabbed the key and turned off the car and cruised till i got to a safe spot off the highway.. Pressing on the gas it didn't feel like it had tension on the cable so i thought something happen to the cable. Checked the engine bay and nope, cable is fine but i noticed the piece the cable connects to was feeling loose, didnt notice at the time the piece that was stuck. Luckily i had the laptop in the car and checked my sensors/gauges on the haltech) and it said the tps was 100%.. So i went back and looked around and the piece that was stuck just seemed off to me, i said to myself "that should be moving too" and once i gave it some force it popped back and everything was fine.. but it still gets stuck.

Here is a video ,

Tried lubing it up aswell but still.. going away for a couple days so i dont want to rip it apart just yet, what could it be?

Your top throttle plate is definitely sticking open. That's the thing that your slamming back into place. Never experienced that issue so to fix it I would say stay with checking it's linkage for looseness. Maybe it's stop is over adjusted and causing the linkage to break over too far?

Most definitely mechanically. I would remove the throttle body and troubleshoot from there. That way you can see inside, might be a bent rod catching. Definitely take it out and have a look.

Yep, mechanical issue for the top throttle plate. Looks like the tb has been modified as well so maybe something went wrong.

not sure if my tb is modded from when the tuner built the car almost 2 years ago, but i never modded it, but i took the uim/tb off to send my injectors out to be cleaned and tested, only thing i did to it was add the gold thermal tape under the uim, and put it back when injectors came. Cant wait to get back home a rip it apart to see whats going on.

Yea it's at least missing the thermowax in the back area, but looks like some other things along the butterflies were changed which is a usual tb modification for these cars.

I experienced it , when Ididnt drive my FD for long periods of time . Lubricate the TB with some WD 40 or some kind of lubricant / light grease . and open and close it until everything is lubricated and working fine . my issue was behind on the firewall side after I did that . and drove the car floored it every day before I started it to make sure it was working and never had an issue after

Found the issue, when I put the uim on and zip tied vac lines, the line closes to the tb was hitting the base of the zip tie and getting stuck. Such a silly mistake. Glad it wasn't major

I recently found that same issue, probably more minor than yours, pulling my TB for an unrelated reason. It had been that way for years.

So beware of the interference on the firewall-side hose line.
