Thought it was the Map Sensor but wasn't

Hey All,
Just trying to understand what happened a little better. I was loading my car into a building for a car show saturday and while sitting in line it started to smoke more than usual and wouldn't hold idle...If you let off the throttle the rpm would just dip and stall...Well, I just kept the idle up and got it loaded (and carbon monoxide poisoned everyone inside) and figured I would just reconnect the MS when I got in because that definately was it...Well, got in and it was connected and everything looked good...

They had us disconnect our battery because of the show...When it was time to go I reconnected it, fired her up and everything was fine....What the hell was that? I have the PFC by the way.

It may still have been the map sensor. Possibly a momentary bad contact. Symptoms that comes and goes is a PITA.

Actually, yeah. It was a pretty big show with about 110 cars or so...Everything. Bikes, Drag cars, SUVs, trucls, and riced out everything...I got 2nd in the Mazda category...But it was weird...The guy who got first place had a riced out protoge with some wild paint and stereo and DVD equipment...But what was weird was when they called him name they said "John Doe for the silver rx-7!"

Here are some photos from the show
