For those of you with ported engines...gas mileage?

How is it? Better than stock or worse?

I'm not even going speculate on the chemistry and physics that would procure an accurate answer here, just seeing what you guys have encountered in a "real world" driving environment.

And yes...I know FDs aren't built for good gas mileage, but every penny helps me work toward extra eye-candy for the car (the internals come first...of COURSE!!).

gas mileage, Ha!

Hey man,
My engine is ported, and I had my ecu reprogrammed by Pettit Racing, and my gas mileage sucks!, Then again, my car is pretty fast, and it's not my only ride, so it's OK

Yeah, I'm running ported and my milage is in the *******. Not a good idea if you want good gas mileage, but the gain in power is great.

My 93 got 11 mpg and that was before I ported it. I haven't put the engine back in yet, so I don't know if it will go any lower.

Oh yeah you may be wondering how I managed 11 mpg. Well, I don't daily drive it, so the only time I take it out is on the weekends to terrorize the roads near me!

Stage 2 Street Port

I'm running a Stage 2 street port, and I get just over 300 miles a tank if I'm NOT in the turbo (about 18 mpg). Usually about 150 with the normal driving habits. :p Did you know that at about 160 mph you can actually watch the gas guage go down? It's kinda cool.

I have a PFC and a just got a new extremely large street port from KDR. I had to drive 600 miles just after picking up the car and I got sometime like 20 miles to the gallon. I was amazed. Incidentally, the car feels like it breathes so much easier when I'm at speed. The acceleration on the highway is unbelievable (at only 10 lbs of boost).

I have been driving on a street port for a year now and have not even thought about the bad gas mileage. I will see how much I am getting now that I've read this post.
