Well, first...sitting in the FD feels like you in a cockpit, in command. In the Supra, I feel like I am in an old school...late '80 Supra..the dash is too large for me...I feel like I am looking a wall.

The cornering feeling of an FD seems to be more flat...the Supra feels like it will want to throw you off.....but if when you push it through a turn..it will respond.

On acceleration, the FD moves very swift and very quickly. The Supra make you feel that it wants to punch a hold in the air, pow!

that's it? nice?

how about a few specifics please? how does the lowly FD stack up? obviously the Z06 is a better car in many ways...but how much better in the twisties?

I guess it's been awhile since your drove your FD anyway

It's nice.

Rides well. Handles very well. Accelerates very well. Gets good gas mileage... there's not a lot I can say about it that the press hasn't already.

What the hell Jim?! You're usually Mr. wordy
We all think that you know what you are talking about so we ( at least I ) respect your opinion.
I am starting to think about a Z06 as well or a used viper gts, I love the 7 but I don't have a lot of time or money to work on it all the time.
I could just send in the monthly payments for the other cars and be done.
I wonder how a 01' (cheaper that 02') with a few basic mods would stack up?
I really want a black 02' Z06 but that just isn't in the cards right now. dang it.

yeah, but is it so refined and "nice" that it lacks character, kind of driving a really fast appliance?

you can say all you want (not you personally) about the lowly FD, but she has character, you have to admit that...people love it when I let off the guess after a full throttle run and fart a big flame out the back, ha...now THAT is character baby....sometimes a few rough edges ain't a bad thing....just like a really hot girl with a bubble brain and no personality....heaven knows this world is full of those

I just don't feel like bragging up the car.

But I now have some confirmation that it's as strong as it feels...

And it's got plenty of character. It may not fart fire, but that only constitutes "character" in some circles.

Really the only bad thing I can say about the Z06 is the interior...seats are fine...but the dash is well....typical american and looks like ***...

but everything else about it...rocks...for the money you cant buy more car performance..right out of the box

why not the triple rotor? Damn I hate to think about a v8 in a fd. How are you going to control the balance and weight etc...?

the Z06 is pretty amazing...performance wise. the only reason i dont like the Z06 is because it looks too much like your average C5, and they are a dime a dozen.

Why a 3 rotor? Its allready been done a bunch of times. I'm waiting for the first person to stuff a 4 rotor in a FD. Before you laugh, Rob at Pineapple Racing builds 4 rotors, that are shorter than the 787s factory 4 rotor. Even stuffing a V8 into a FD/FC/FB is getting old. No offense to anyone..i'm not starting a flame war. I'm just waiting for someone with some $$ to step up and have a 800hp daily driven FD/4 rotor. Now that would be unique, and orginal. CJ

the Z06 is a great ride, no doubt about that....tremendous bang for the buck

Jim, with your seemingly bottomless pit of cabbage, did you ever consider, say, a 911 TT or something along those lines? just curious....
