For those with IC fans

I'm putting a permacool 10' fan on my M2 medium and I was wondering how you guys attaches yours to the IC. Perma Cool gives plastis tie wraps things that poke through the radiator and you connect them like you would a tie wrap only they dont wrap around anything. Kinda hard to explain, but the plastic pieces are too wide to fit through the IC fins without butchering the fins a little. Its not too bad, but they are about 1/8 in wide. I know Max Cooper used the same setup so if he reads this ......well......Please HELP.

Also the thermastat/relay kit I ordered comes with a variable thermastat down to 150-160 I think. I know its made for a radiator so thats too hot for a IC so what would be a good temp to have the fans turn on if I mount the sensor right on the IC? I figured I could modify it with a few resistors to get tit to turn on around 120 maybey?

I used the ties provided on my PFS IC. Mine doesn't use a thermostat; I have a switch, and turn it off and on as needed. I also suggest some kind of fan shroud. After mine was on the car, I tested the flow from the outside intake, with and without sealing off the fan, and there was definitely more flow when shrouded.

I did somethind different. I bought a remote switch that lets me turn the fan on and off with a radio remote control when I come to a red light or after an autocross run...
I'll take pictures of the setup and the relay box location if you think the wireless route is interesting to you...

I used a small phillips screwdriver to open up the locations on the IC fins so the "zip tie could easily pass through with out wrecking the fins more than needed.

I used the mounting strips that came with the fan. Just push them through the IC and they work fine. Be sure that they go straight.

I had to turn the L brakcets around and cut them a little.
