Thinking of getting a '93 RX7

I'm new to the RX7 world, so please forgive me for my lack of knowledge.

I might have the opportunity to buy '93 RX7. It has a new engine, rebuilt turbos, and a new cat. Apparently the seals, I'm not exactly sure of the specifics, are bad.

I haven't gotten the opportunity to ask the mileage on the new engine or the body. The owner hasn't given me a sale price yet but I'm hoping it'll be around $10K.

What would be a reasonable price for this car and how much would I be expecting to pay for the repair costs of replacing the seals?

TIA

Search will answer it all, but repost as soon as you get specifics on the car, particulalry the seals... apex? turbo? It could be a sure sign to stay away from the car. Also a new cat is NOT a good thing, most likely the precat and it needs a DP pronto!

If all of those items are new, but the "seals" are bad, that sounds kinda fishy. Find out which seals and more specifics on how new the items replaced are.

a rx-7 with a rebuilt or new motor for around 10 grand is a very good deal. I'll jump on it right away.

I'm paying 11k for mine today. It's a 93 R1, blk-on-blk, 100k mi. the car runs, okay, but there's black smoke coming from the turbos, I think. The rest of the car is pretty clean, all original down to the paint. All in all, it's a straight car, but I'm going into this deal knowing the motor and turbos are coming out soon. You pay what you get for, you know? And it's only $11k. Well not "only" $11k, I mean eleven grand is eleven grand. What I mean is I'd rather pay this much for this car than one that isn't even in the same ballpark, like a '97 Integra with 90k mi for the same mula. Don't you agree?

how are the apex seals bad on a new engine? bad apex seals are reasons to get a new engine in the first place.
