thinking of getting a 3rd gen turbo

hey guys I'm getting a car soon and am deciding between a 300zxTT or 3rd gen rx-7 turbo. The 300zx is more powerful stock, but only 2 seats sucks..so I'm looking into the rx-7 3rd gen turbo, since its powerful, looks awesome, and has 5 seats (enough for friends). anyways I'm wondering how much I would ahve to put into a stock to make it perform well (under 13.5 quarter mile) anyways tahnks! pics would be awesome of your cars.

1.) Search the forum and you will find all the answers you need

2.) It has two seats

3.) Get the 300ZX...the FD is just not something you jump into without knowing a lot about it (which you obviously don't)

The 3rd RX7 only has 2 seats like the turbo 300zx. Granted yes the turbo 300 has a little more stock hp then the RX7. The RX7 is still pretty stout for what it has. Probaly wont take you much to get it to do better then a 13.5 and it's a light car too. Probaly good basics like a good exhuast, intake, down pipe, intercooler upgrade, and ecu swap will deff get you under 13.5.

LOL, who told you the RX-7 has 5 seats?!

BTW, the 300ZX TT is NOT more powerful stock. I know, I used to have one. It has more *horsepower*, 300 (RX-7: 255), but the RX-7 weighs ~700lbs. less so it evens out somewhat in straight-line performance due to the power-to-weight ratio. 0-60, the RX-7 *is* a hair faster and will dominate the Z handling-wise.

fd is more of a toy, you can really use it for anything except for racing around in and it brakes a lot more then a 300zx will.

both are dirt cheap right now (many can be had for under 10k sadly... well depending on how you look at it) and they are both fun cars.

on another note, 300zx does have a much tighter engine bay though i think. it scares me to think of what would happen if you lost a bolt in there someplace...

Integra GS-R or Type-R. Very easily modifiable, can be made to go really fast, handle exceptionally well, carry 1-5 people, and have trunk space and gas mileage.

Not in my case! I had stuff break on a regular basis with the Z and those cars are NOT cheap to fix. And believe it or not, zero issues (yet) with the FD.

No problems with my FDs either.

1993 Mazda RX-7 Hp to weight ratio: 10.9:1
Nissan 300ZX Turbo HP to weight : 11.6:1

Go ahead and get the 300ZX for all that extra power. There is also a 2+2 300ZX, supras have back seats that can fit a midget with no legs, and the 3000GT VR-4 i think has 2 back seats too, btw 3000GT has power to weight of 12.6:1.

Also there are back seats you can buy for the FD that replace the rear cargo bin, some of the JDM FD's came with back seats.
