Thinking about going single. Need help

Im very new to turbo cars so i dont know how it workds exacly yet, thats why i'm asking this.

If i would buy a single turbo kit from let's say rx-7store.net would it just be to assemble it? how do i control it? cause the electronics gotta be connected to it right?

This may be a stupid question and i probably know it only that my brain isnt functioning at 100% right now because of work

Hopefully this will help a little

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...d+single+turbo

And yes you need a stand alone EMS(ECU basically) so that you can control everything.

You still need alot more besides the EMS but hopefully that post will give you an idea of what's needed.

what you are going to need is upgraded injectors, intercooler, exhaust, remove the air pump (for most single turbos), fuel pump, ecu, and the turbo kit. You have to make sure that the turbo is not going to blow your motor is basically what I am trying to say. It costs a lot but hopefully you will make it work because afterwards its just so much fun!

But what if i keep boost at 12-13 PSI? Wouldnt that be like having stock with only a few simple mods?

Hope u understand what i mean.

Nice looking car! But to answer your question, no it is not like adding a few simple mods. A single turbo of any variety that is sized for the 13B will flow more CFM or air than the stock twins, and at a cooler temperature. You need fuel and ECU modifications to handle this and tune properly.. you can't just slap on a single and go.
