thinking about buying 93' rx7
I am thinking about purchasing a 93 rx7, but i dont really know all of the differences between the r1 and r2 and so on. If someone could explain the differences that would be appreciated. And if you were going to buy a 93 would you buy an r1 or not?

Second im feeling nice so ill explain it, R1 is the racing model, they only came in 93 (the 94 and 95's had R2) they have a strut bar, black seuide like interior, a second oil cooler, no sun roof, cd player but not the boise stereo, a rear wing, and stiffer suspension. (anything i miss?) The R2 is basically the same thing, but i think it has upgraded parts and different suspension but dont quote me on that. If i had the choice i would buy a 94 R2, but if i was looking at a 93 i would get the R1.

The performance of all of them are essentially the same, and really means nothing if you plan on modding your 7. The most common misconception among those new to FDs is that the performance difference between a Touring/PEP/Base vs the R1/2s issimilar to the regular integras/civics and that of the Type Rs.

HEY NEWBIE READ THIS!
First off, I am glad to see you interesed in a 3rd Gen RX7. There are many things you need to learn before you start asking questions about it, and thats why I am here to help!
FIRST --
Learn to use the SEARCH function on the forums, instead of posting a question, chances are it has already been answered, so why sit and wait for replies to your thread when you can find all the info you need in less than 5 minutes? The SEARCH button is in the top right of the screen, here is a link to the search engine: CLICK HERE
SECOND --
There are TONS of good websites out on the web about RX7s, and will cover anything you want to know without having to ask here on the forums... First, go read this thread, it's a sticky at the top of the 3rd Gen Section, you should have clicked here first. But if not, CLICK HERE and it will take you to it. It has great links to awesome websites about RX7s with tons of useful info. here are the links that all future RX7 owners should check out before considering buying an RX7:
http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/index.html
Hope that I have helped a little, you will soon learn that the RX7, especially the 3rd gen, is a car that must be maintained religiously and they do cost a lot of money. if you are looking at this car because they are cheaper than most other high performance cars, i wouldnt get too excited you will end up paying much more for this car than just the purchase price. it truly is an amazing car and can be a very reliable and fun car if you know your stuff. Feel free to PM me or any other forum members with questions if you can't find what youre looking for, everyone here is always willing to help!
