Think I can get my car running in 2 weeks?
the goal is to have a 20B sitting on an engine stand in the garage while driving the car all the while, having that on a stand will bring me more happiness than a single in the car
and to answer your qusetion, yes :|

My Twin disc clutch came in today. Still waiting on my ignition amp. Currently making a racing turbo manifold for my red car using this turbo and will make the 3 rotor manifold when I finish reassembling it back together.
If everything is done smoothly, I should have my motor back together by Sunday and put back into the car.
2 days to wire the Haltech in, 1 day to do the fuel system, 1-2 days to do the oil cooler system, 1 day for ignition system, 1 days for our custom 4" I/C and piping. I should have 1 day left to try to start the car (cross fingers) and hope it'll run before RR.... LOL
Going to FL for tuning day is gonna kill my time (4 days total).
I'll take some pics of my turbo and my clutch system tomorrow. :-)

I became exhausted just reading that schedule LOL
Good Luck, I hope to see it there!!!

I'm using the 20B rear iron plate and 20B engine mouting point. The reason why I choose the 20B rear iron is because of a much larger runners. I could possibly port the 13B-REW irons to match but it'll take way too much work and not worth the time invested especially when I'm in such a tight time schedule. (Did I mentioned I still have to come up with slides for my presentation in RR??). The subframe is done. 6 of 9 ports are done as of tonight. I only have 3 rotor housings left to port and should be ready to reassmeble by tomorrow. Looks like I'm within the target date so far so I'll cross my fingers and hope nothing will fall out of place. :-)

you know what is really weird which always gets me, how fc 20b mounts cost like 250 bucks from K2RD (RX7 FC3S 13BRE/20B Cosmo Engine Mounts Kit
130-1000 $250 ) and FD 20b mounts are like 1500-2000 bucks. You guys do realise that the subframes are just peices of pipes welded together and they are not made out of solid gold correct?
it even cost only $735.00 for a LS1 Sub-frame. something I hopefully will get custom made (well if i can get Peter to fight Kell hehe
)

" that drives the price up.
Some new pics as of today.
Engine is ported and painted (sorry, can't show you pics of the ports. :-P)
Subframe is painted and welded completely as well.
I'm about .5 days behind schedule so I'll have to make up the difference somehow

Question...
I saw that Racing Beat sells aluminum intermediate and rear housings to replace the stock cast iron.
Since you are already spending a fortune on your 20B swaps, have you considered using these replacements?
At 4 grand, is this a huge cost to offset the 50 - 75 lbs of weight you will save?

Here're some pics as of tonight. I repainted my engine to Black/silver instead of red/silver. I'm in the process of wiring the haltech and also fabricating the I/C and oil lines. The turbo manifold will get done by wednesday as soon as I can get the engine semi running. Still need to do the fuel system (dual fuel pump). I'm a little behind on my schedule but I still think I can get it done by wednesday and be ready for the rotary revolution. We'll see as we get closer. LOL
Holy spaghetti Batman. That's insane!!
Man that is a bunch of wires ! Amazing how something so badass can come from that mess!
Nice job, I look forward to seeing it finalized.

Only an electrical engineer can post a picture like that and then calmly say it will be done in a few days :-p
Looking good.
LOL....I'm half way done with the ignition wiring. Injectors are done (with loom) so it looks cleaner. Once I get the rest of the stuff done, it'll look alot cleaner. The only thing that is taking me too long is wiring the stupid AEM 8 channel with the ignition system at the same time. I also solder and heat shrink every wire so it takes me twice the time than clamping it with a butt connector. I'll be pushing it close to the deadline but I *think* I can pull it off.....

What type of paint do you use on the block? The dupont 500 degree stuff? And do you just mask off and paint the irons while assembled? How much sanding prep or whatnot do you do prior to painting?
I think the black goes better in the CYM. The red was a bit loud. Still cool just louder.

Well, if you don't get it done we can hang you off the back of the trailer while we drive up there and stick a flash light on your head so you can have an additional 10 hours or so of working on it. And is that the same missing in action 8 channel AEM? Lookin gud dude! everyone say a prayer for pluto!
Well no matter if you get it done or not it was a feat just getting done as much as you have in just 2 weeks. Its the fastest 20B conversion I've ever heard of lol
See ya in a few days!!!
