Are these worth anything? FD turbo irons, housings and rotors

I have just torn down a FD turbo engine that was rebuild by Banzai 12 years ago. Street ported. Guy I bought from said he blew a coolant seal and it sat for a year. Wondering if there is any value to any of it? I also have all the parts you don’t see; front cover, oil pump, pan, everything, etc.

things to note: you can see where the rotor sat and started to eat at rear housing chrome, also side irons have some marks from where rotor sat, feels pitted. I don’t see any cracks or deterioration in passageways. started to remove rotor apex seals and stopped, I got too much going on.

i appreciate any input. I just don’t know how far gone is too far gone and/or the tolerance for what can be restored and repaired in these.

I'm no expert, but that spot after the spark plugs on what I'm guessing is the rear housing makes that one a paperweight, and the corrosion/pitting on the front and rear Irons is probably a disqualifier too

Yeah the WORST thing you can do with a water pumper engine is let it sit. Corrosion took a toll on those parts.

Irons with any surface pitting are immediate junk. Hard to tell on the rotor housings. Rotors are a maybe for a budget build.

The big thing is not just pricing appropriately but shipping is pricey on delicate and heavy parts. May be worth posting in a local rotary group if someone wants them for a budget build or display parts.

yeah I figured. I just see a lot of guys on here welding so I didn’t know what could be done. For me personally I wouldn’t use it on a build but I know other people are more adventurous. What do you think I could get for housing and rotor? On the low end?

Rough housings and plates sell for about US$75 all day long on Buyee. Add $50 shipping. iI would be that they are largely non-reusable items.

I am putting together a "demonstration 20B" from a bunch of unusable plates and housings. You can use FD parts for most of that. I bought a fake "fat plate" out of Australia (it is made of plastic) for $200..

Got an S5 front cover on here. And had some long rods made up by a shop.

Hope to start putting it together this week.

So maybe you can get up to US$135 each for your scrap pieces; iI others might be thinking to do something similar.

I may have enough scrap pieces to put together a demo 13B for the local high school auto-mechanics program.

I can offer you US$75 each for the front and back stationary gears (with bolts).

hey thanks for the advice and for the offer. I am going to try to list them first locally due to their weight and I don’t want to break them down just yet. But I will certainly take you up on your offer if I can’t sell them. Thanks again

Get a rotary shop that rebuilds FD engines to look at the marginal pieces. You might be able to ask US$325 each, if there is a hope of refurbishment.
