Are these the 280ps spec turbos? they seem to have the abradable seal but have 6 sets of blades on the compressor opposed to 5 shown in the 3rd picture which are proper 280ps turbos.

they apparently came of the RS model which was 280ps

 

Looking at the last picture, yes. The efini turbos had the black abraidable seal like shown in the last picture.

sorry. the last picture is of an actual 280ps twin turbos, the 1st 2 pics are of the twin turbos i'm thinking of buying. you'll notice the 3rd pic has 5 sets of blades whereas the 1st 2 pics have 6 blades?

 

who is selling those to you?

FYI. Mazda Japan sold the car as an "Efini RX-7" from 92-98. For the 99-02 version it was sold as a "Mazda RX-7".

So there is/was no relationship between the 280PS turbo's & the "Efini" name tag..........
