Thermostat housing gasket (metal ?)

Two questions:

1) is there a metal gasket (like for the front cover and waterpump) for the two large square-like coolant passages (circled in green), on the thermostat housing to the front cover ?
2) what's the pn# for the gasket between the filler-neck and thermostat housing, and is there a metal gasket as well ?

Thanks,
:-) neil

I have never seen one. The RX-8 front cover gasket is actually the front cover AND the water pump housing to block gasket in metal and all in one piece. But, I don't think it fits the 13B-REW.

Kind of surprised as all the other gaskets have been changed to metal.

RX-8 gasket:

The gasket is $24, may just be worth buying it and snipping the top piece of the gasket out .

Oh, BTW, you are talking about the water pump housing. The thermostat housing is the small housing with the fill cap on top and the upper radiator hose connection.

Now that I remember, I did use the RX8 front cover gasket snipped, as it's cheaper than the "other" metal gaskets (N390-10-502 or N390-10-5020) and includes that metal coolant gasket between front-cover and block.

However, I'm looking for two other gaskets (preferably metal):

Thermostat housing to front cover (circled in green, post#1). I can probably get another RX8 front cover gasket and snip that coolant gasket out and use it if the right shape (originally for block-side).
Filler-neck to thermostat housing (circled in red, poste#1, picture #2)

Thanks,
:-) neil

BTW: you might want to use an anaerobic sealant instead of RTV/Silicone so if a piece comes loose there nothing to block any coolant or oil passages.

me and my friend have used the Rx8 gasket untrimmed* several times on different engines and it works fine.

there is no metal thermostat gasket i'm aware of, the Rx8 uses a rubber seal like the FD, although its a larger diameter

*you have to trim something minor, i don't recall what.

You can use the rx8 front cover gasket but you will need to trim around one of the front cover bolts. You will see when you lay the gasket down. I like to use some hylomar or a thin coating of silicone on it as these cars are older and the metal gasket may not seal as well to a pitting water pump housing.
