TEIN FLEX Radiator
I noticed TEIN announced their FLEX radiator in Japan last week for the FD:

There is good and bad about the radiator
BAD: The initial cost is $1227 + tax assuming it stays the same for Tein USA
GOOD: There is a 1/8 NPT adapter for sticking in an aftermarket water temp sensor.
I can't afford that kind of radiator, and unless Tein starts thinking about producing new, cost effective parts, they will be hurt by our downward spiraling economy.

Sadly, I don't see the prices across the Japanese aftermarket reflecting the current state of the US / global economic downturn at all as yet. I think they see themselves providing unique products which have high value attached, so they can more or less name their prices. But then again I guess maybe one could say they have always been pretty high. I remember the first time I picked up a copy of Sport Compact Car magazine in the 90's and first finding out there were companies in Japan making hop up mods for these cars and yeah when I saw the prices I thought the were high then, lol...

For no apparent reason, radiators are ALWAYS hella expensive from Japan. Dunno why. Every aftermarket radiator I've ever seen has been crazy priced.

Floating Mechanism I think it may be an Engrish way of saying "radiator shock absorber". And the adjuster looks to accomadate custom (ie: other than stock) setups in the engine bay.

Since cooling is so crucial with these engines when they start seeing spirited use and now with age factoring in I think the tuning companies believe they can command premiums for any items that they may see that can alleviate this.
