TB Bypass Mod

Hello,
I am bypassing the coolant flow through my throttle body and I'm wondering what most people do with the water hose connections on the water pump and on the rear housing. Do you just block them off or do you connect them together. I think I'm going to just block them off unless I hear otherwise....

Thanks,
Brian

Has anyone just blocked the ports? I know one is a supply and one is a return. I want to remove as many freaking hoses as possible to simplify this thing.
Thanks,
Don.

You can do either. Personally if I eliminated the TB coolant I would just cap them. No sense in having another hose that could leak if you can be rid of it completely.

Wow, now that this ancient post has been dug up...

I just capped both of them and it has been working fine for me.

Garfinkle plugs the holes with pipe plugs. If some one wants to go back .threaded nipples can be put in. So far no one has gone back. He pulls out the metal tubes , drills and taps the holes.

If you are talking about the TB inlet and outlet coolant pipes, I didn't cap or join them together...they are just hanging out in the open and doing fine.

duboisr,

This would be the preferred method except that I didn't have the engine disassembled and this would have introduced metal shavings into the water jacket.

Anyone have a link to the write up on this.... Ya I am very dumb so a write up is always in favor of me. I have a coolant leak from a hose right next to the alternator under the sequentiol chamber thingy and I heard this is the TB hose so can anyone give me link please =(.

Just run a coolant hose from the back of the black (top of the rear housing) to the the rear of the thermostat housing, and remove the pair of hoses from and to the UIM. I did this with my motor out; i am sure with the engine in the car it would be a pita.
