Taking on new project.

There is a pretty good chance I will be buying this 93 Base. As you can see it had an engine fire. Anyone have any ideas where I will be able to find an engine with all the harnesses attached? I searched and came up with nothing. Would it be suggested to just go with a fresh engine with Haltech and all the other goddies that go with it? Im still not sure what im going to do with it. Maybe just fix it and sell it or I may just keep it. Let me know what you all think.

Goodfellafd3s had a brand new harness but I think he sold it. As for a motor with harness you'd probably have to source one from a junkyard, or find someone who's going 3 rotor or lt1/ls1 and see if you can buy they're whole setup.

If it's going to be a project car definately say screw it and at least go with a haltech, should make alot of things easier I would think. .

Oh yeah and maybe you could call www.cleanandfast.com and see if they have a drop in stock motor/harness if you wanted to go that route.

RUN!
I cant see all the time and money you'd be putting into it, unless you have a modded FD, and still have all the original parts to put on this one. Thats what I'd like to do in a year or so.

Oh,,,,,,, My,,,,,,,,, God........

Do you know how EXPENSIVE FD3S parts are? Really?

I can see $10, no wait, make that $20K in that picture alone. You asked for opinions! Yow!!

I've fixed TWO engine fire cars, neither one of them even had burned paint on the hood. You need a complete engine and a complete front end, to even start. There are just a TON of parts in the front of an FD, and I can tell by the pic that almost everything under that hood is gonna be toast.

There are at least 5 wiring harnesses that are toasted on that car. ABS pump, brake booster, master cyl, cruise, AC, PS rack, Lsuspension, etc, etc.

I wouldn't touch it for a rebuilder. Way to much work. Check out www.beyondtheredline.com, he built a fire FD like that, in the end he said it was too much work.

OMG, that is a ton of work.

Oh, btw, it is a Touring, not a base. Foglights, sunroof = Touring.
