What actually premixes the oil w/ the gas?

is there a specific part that is in charge of this or is it done mechanically in the engine? I am getting lots of gas in my oil pan and I'm looking at all of my options.
Thanks.

Oil Metering Pump injects a few drops of oil every couple seconds when the car is on. If this is broken, though, you wouldn't get gas in your oil, or vice versa....just lack of mixing and a shortened lifespan of the engine (very short). Sounds like you've got a dilution problem. Oil seals are the probable culprit.

It is never mixed with the fuel, in a stock engine.

On the FD, actually all fuel injected 13Bs, the oil is injected directly to the surface of the rotor housing. On all pre-FD fuel injected 13Bs, oil is also injected to the inside of the intake manifold, where it gets partially atomized but mostly it drools along the manifold runner wall, which actually is a good thing. On all carbed cars, the oil is dripped via tubes into the carb venturies, where it gets partially atomized but mainly it just drools down the runner walls.

I dunno how the injected 12As did it (never seen one in person). But, in no case does the factory system actually mis the oil with the fuel.

Aftermarket carb setups often just drip the OMP loines into the carb bowls for simplicity's sake, instead of having to rework the carb to accomodate the tubes. But for ultimate simplicity and therefore reliability, it's easiest to simply pre-mix oil in the fuel, manually, that way you have one less thing to worry about failing.
