synthetic weight?
I just changed to Mobil1 15w/50 this week. First of all I notice the turbo's are quick to spool up. Little less lag.
Good for my street-ported engine.
However with the thick weight behind it... the secondary turbo does not come in as hard. I always break the tires loose when the second turbo comes on line with the thinner oil.
I have seen many Japanese tuners using as thick as 20w70. WHY? And their temps are close to mine here in Canada. apox.-10 to about 30 degrees. "Weird"?
I Can't believe I held off synthetic for this long. But I think I might change to 10w40 Mobil 1.
What weights do you synthetic users use?

Just wanted to add...
Now my Oil presure gauge actually works.... I get 3/4 high oil presure til the car is warm then at idle it settles to about 1/4 way up.
Instead of half way or nothing sometimes at idle.
Nice feeling--- when you never see that gauge drop to "0"
anymore... cheers...

I was told by a auto engineer when using synthetics to use the thinest weight acceptable. I use 10w-30 Amsoil. The synthetics protect and hold up better than petroleum heavy weight oils. People confuse oil pressure with oil flow. 10-30 gives better flow which requires less pressure. Has anyone read the motor oil bible?
