symptoms of broke ppf
i recently had m2 traling arms and toe links installed and was driving arround with no wheel hop at all. about a week ago i blew my clutch and i just got done breaking it in and i have wheel hop now. this sucks. i think i might have blew my clutch and broke my ppf at the same time. i now hear rattling sometimes when i start off in first and when i **** in second. it sounds like my exhaust moving arround i know its not my bushings because i just had them all changed.
do you think my ppf is cracked? thanks

(had to laugh that you "****" in second) anyway........
My PPF was destroyed. It was broken in three places, nearly all the way through in one of them. Some people had written that you could hear grinding, but I never heard any signs at all. The only thing that I could tell changed when I replaced it is less wheel hop, tighter shifts, more traction on launch, and the car had less tendancy to oversteer at the limit.
It's easy to check. Just jack the car up and look where it bolts to the rear diff. You can see it without removing anything. The section where a hole is cut in it right below the bolts is where it will usually crack. Mine was also cracked at the bottom halfway to the front of the car, but I don't think I could see that one until I removed it.
