Switched to S100.

After 5 hours labor, sort of done.

1st: wash with standard auto soap, rinse
2nd: wash with Dawn, rinse, dry
3rd: Mothers step 1 Pre-Wax cleaner
4th: Mothers Clay Bar
5th: Mothers step 2, Sealant and Glaze
6th: S100 wax

I got done with step 3, and it was 2:30, so I said screw steps 4 and 5.

Now, from what I have read, you can use the clay bar anytime, to remove contaminants. I plan to do that later. From looking at the Mothers instruction, you can also use the Sealant and Glaze anytime. Now since I hadn't clayed, and removed all the little crap, I decided to wait on the Glaze and Sealant.

I put on S100, and I like that stuff.

For comparison, this is with Zainos, on a sunnier day

The following are all with 1 coat of S100

Nice job on the wax. I love S100, it's the best stuff I've ever tried...however, I've yet to use Zaino or Claybar. Good job!

Niiiiice!

The claybar more-or-less just removes large deposits of contaminants. If your finish feels smooth already, then, you won't really notice any difference.

Black always great after a detailing, however, that only lasts 30 minutes.

It too close to compare, with just 1 coat, but I feel a lot better putting a thicker layer of wax on than a thin layer of polish. And I'll feel moreso when I have 5 + coats of wax on it.

What I really need, is a good way to get out the little scratches. I'll try the Mothers Glaze and Seal stuff and see if that does it.

There are 2 types of Zainos polish to apply, one is designed to fill scratches, but I don't think it did jack ****.

yeah most of those quick polishes contain a lot of fillers, which wash away after 3 or 4 car washes. Dual action polish/cleanser (DAPC) is sweared on by the autopia guys...BRILLIANT shine/reflection on ur car though!

also....you CAN clay anytime...but what youre overlooking is that clay has a very light abrasive and will remove your wax. So always clay before waxing!

Interesting... I switched the other way around (from s100 to zaino). I like zaino better. Neverthless, your car looks really good.

There was also one other reason.

The laziness factor. Now, if I get totally lazy, and need to have the car ready for something, I can use a carwash/wax. As I recall it is a no-no to wax on top of Zainos.

By the way, if you do go through a wash, and it says they apply a "clearcoat" what are they actually putting on?

it's nice... but i just don't get it. why bother. sure, you could spend days buffing your car till it looks like one of those show cars with 50 coats of wax, but you can't drive it. once you do, it will go to ****. you have smoke, dust, dirty rain, tiny pebbles, all kinds of **** hitting your car every day.

...that's why i like flat black. hose it off and you are done.

it's nice though, nice work.
