Well the pri turbo is the one with the pressure nipples that are used for the wg and pre control.
Other than that they should be ok I think. Maybe email Brian at BNR, I'm sure he wont mind telling you if it will work.

I thought there were some differences in the compressors or turbines, but I just looked at my original turbos and they look the same to me. Perhaps that is the 99 turbos or something that are different. The center sections also look exactly the same. Get the snap ring pliers out and go for it!

The cartridges and the turbine and compressor blades are exactly the same (assuming these are 93-95 turbos). Like maxcooper said go for it. Just be sure to line everything back up correctly. Look on Steve Cirian's site under the turbo rebuilding section. This should help you quite a bit. Since you are taking them apart you will want to pick the best turbine housing to use in the new set. Good luck!

I recently bought a set of stock twins with one fairly good turbo and one bad that looked as though it ate an apex seal. I bought the set just for the teardown experience. I will say you need a good strong set of snap ring pliers. I managed to remove the snap ring from one turbo but the other is giving me major problems. I'm about to pull out the die grinder or Dremel and cut the bastard off. Be safe and wear eye protection when removing the snap rings. Sometimes they come off with force.
After breaking one of the turbos down to all its basic parts I am surprised rebuild kits cost so damn much. Is it the brass bearings? The only turbo rebuild kit I know of is offered through Turbo City and supposedly your turbos will be smoking within six months. I contacted Hitachi through email in regards to replacement parts but no response.

as far as turbo city goes...ive said this before...their turbos are so shitty that they got sued last year for the quantity of their turbos that were failing...they lost and had to pay the shop that sued them for the back labor costs of replacing them again.
my set smoked not after six months...mine smoked the FIRST DAY.
