Thumbs up Ran GoodfellaFD3S (BNR's) with 02 SS

Tonight Rich met up with a friend of mine thats wanting to go BNR's on his FD, and there could not be a better time to see what it could do against a 02 SS.

Just wanted to tell Rich good runs with his well tuned car and the BNR's, my friend wanting these turbos was very impressed. BTW how many psi were you running. My friend is going to post the results

Your post was lacking in the juicy details... exactly what happened...?? Did you bud street race GoodfellaFD3S?? And, if so, what happened?

ok
the frist race we went from a 40 punch or so i jumped about 1 car to 2 out in front from the punch he caught me around 100 to 110 (talk to him later informed me he was in the wrong gear) 2nd we take off he just pulled away from me (i could not get my car to drop into 1st gear so my rpm were to low from a 40 punch) the 3rd race i jump about 1 car out in front by the time i hit 3rd gear he was passing me up well that storie on the race.

the reason i want to race him was beacause my freind want to get the same set up as him preety much and want to see what it could do agaist my car. I was running 13.00 @110mph in the 1/4 and 8.5 in the 8 of a mile before when i frist got the car when it had 600 miles on it now i am running alot better last time i took it to the track it was a 8th of a mile and i ran 8.32 at 88mph

all i have to say that car moves

You guys need to race from a 65-70 kick so he can get traction. Also, was he tuned at this point or still running the low boost break in setting?

this ain't adding up

if Rich has 420+ at the wheels he should absolutely WALK in ANY acceleration contest, assuming he can get traction

a 13 second, basically stock SS, should be nothing more than a tasty snack

F bodies and Mustangs clog the roads

you guys are right....thats why I mentioned a 65-70mph roll would be better so Rich would be in 3rd gear.

Rich has about the same set up as mine and I can promise he does nothing but absolutly spin the tires off in 1st and 2nd. I raced from a 45 kick and got sideways. I cant race from a kick unless I'm over 65 OR I have on drag radials. His car should be good for mid 120's in the 1/4 on pump gas....thats what I'm running

OR maybe he wasnt done tuning at the time, I know for a while he was only running 7psi of boost for the break in period.

I agree. An SS is a fun-sized snack. I'd expect to see something like "When I shifted into second gear I looked in my rear-view and noticed the guy was still at the light.."

I'd also think a Z06 would be a better race and we should still hear that a couple lengths were put on him.

BTW - I had a run in with a 2002 LS1 z28 the other day on the hwy from a 75 kick....just to give you an idea of what Rich's car is fixing to be like I pulled about 5+ cars from 75-120ish without even downshifting to 3rd (3rd runs out at 100mph), I stayed in 4th the whole run.

Needless to say he was a little suprised lol

Yea, Rich's old hp was good for mid 11's.

When I only had exhaust and ecu I was running 8.2's in the 1/8.

Hey Rich,
Very Fast car man, I will be getting the BNR's after seeing what your car did last night on the highway. Thanks for taking out the time to come down and letting me see what your car can do to.

1st run. Rich was in the wrong gear, SS jumps about car two 2 cars , then Rich stills reals the SS in, but has to stop due to traffic. He was going to fly right by us.

2nd run Rich left us. but for some reason the SS wouldnt drop into first gear. (That 7 flys)

3rd run The best run. SS jumps about a little, I look into the rearview mirror, and see rich there at the bumper for a split second, then he just flys by us standing still. Thats how you drive a 7 (Rotary Power), of course V8's should have the advantage in tourqe and get a quick jump.

These BNR's are no joke, when the suckers spool you can hear them pierce your ears, sounds like a single. I didnt get a chance to ride in Rich's car , but from looking at the way it performed it seemed that these BNR's have great power along the entire power band.
Good job with the 7 Rich . Much Props

Hmmm...Racelogic anyone? I don't know if it was discussed on the forum much, but there was a lot of talk about the Racelogic traction control on the list for a while. Sounded promising as a "launch tamer"...
