Suspension noise

I am getting a noise from my rear drivers side with hard cornering that leans the body to the left side.

It is a regular repeated noise, "Tat, Tat, Tat" that stops when the car stabilizes. It is not a low pitched thunking, but more medium to high pitch.

It has occurred in 2 situations:

Leaving work, flying through the (empty) parking garage, breaking at 30 and whipping a U-turn right.

Driving through a mall parking lot, negotiating a couple hard right turns at 20.

This has not occurred when making hard left turns.

What does this sound like?

Low mileage (8K) 94 R2.

sounds like your rear suspension needs major work. Better just sell it to me cheap.

j/k

Does it go away when you apply your brakes around a corner? doubtful, but are there any areas that your tires appear to touching? is the car bone stock? otherwise, i have no idea. sorry

Your shock tower bearing is gone. It is a flimsy piece of platic that is easily damaged. wasn't designed very well by Mazda. Dealer item, doesn't cost very much, but you will need to remove (lower) the shock assembly to replace.

Is there a better than OEM replacement for this part?

Update!

I was wrong. It is apparently the driver side front. I was at Max-Max and did a few circles in the parking lot. Their first impression was a bearing. But why only under lean/load conditions?

They then checked the front wheel to see if it was loose. No. Removed it and found no signes of damage on the caliper assembly. No answer yet. All hardware looked fine...

Our FDs make so many noises...don't sweat it unless you notice severe handling changes. For example, when my right-front sway bar connection broke at Mid Ohio, I heard a loud "thunk" under the front end..at the next left hand turn (which was turn 13, fast left), my car went into sudden violent oversteer...thank the Lord that I had big 275/40-17 Hoosier's in back, or else I'd haver certainly gone into the tire barrier!
